Pioneer's Programs

Pioneer is divided into three separate programs according to age group.

Group 1: Pre-K

Children 2½-4 years enjoy a separate, beautiful playground with custom play equipment appropriate for their age level.  Classrooms and playrooms with our western theme are designed to entertain toddlers and preschoolers while offering them an environment for sparking imaginative play and learning.

Pioneer has a custom academic curriculum for our youngest students which consists of morning classes designed to prepare the children for our 4-year kindergarten program. Goals for our Pre-K program include learning the alphabet, learning to write and spell names, eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills for writing, numbers and counting, and learning colors.

Our classes also include music education and arts & crafts development specifically tailored to meet the needs and learning level of beginning students.  Afternoons are dedicated to free play and story times to allow children to exercise and use their minds in creative environments.

Tuition: $657.00/month

Group 2: 4-Year Kindergarten

Our 4-year kindergarten program is a premier educational program unmatched in quality.  Lead teacher and co-owner Pat Lyle brings 40 years of preschool teaching experience.  She has developed her own one-of-a-kind phonics program which routinely produces a 90%+ percentile rate of children reading at a first-grade level before graduating from Pioneer.  She is the author of the children’s book I Can Spell a Rainbow, a multi-media publication that uses visual and auditory methods to teach spelling.

To accompany this outstanding 4K curriculum are professional daily art and music programs.  Our 4K students produce a theatrical production at the end of each year to showcase their talents and to acquaint them with public speaking and performance.  Academics and arts make this one of the most well-rounded preschool education programs available.

Our Group II is the 4-year Kindergarten program, a premier 4K program that is unmatched in the area.

Tuition: $614/month

Group 3: After-School

Unlike many after-school programs, Pioneer offers a wide range of relaxing and engaging activities for the student who has spent the day in an elementary program.  Pioneer understands the need to balance well-structured supervision with the free time of the developing student.  For that reason, our after-school program is equipped with a variety of games and supervised activities to complement the wide open spaces of our secured grounds.  Children in the after-school program choose their area of play, room to room, outside to inside.  Pioneer is a place to relax and socialize, just like home.

Our school bus picks up children from ages 5-5th grade at the following schools:

  • Bluff Park
  • Gwin
  • Green Valley
  • South Shades Crest
  • Deer Valley
  • Trace Crossings

Our premier amenities for older children include:

  • Over an acre of shaded playgrouond
  • Ball Field, with games offered everyday for interested children
  • Arcade with free play on 15 stand-up arcade machines
  • Air hockey and a professional pool table
  • Daily arts & crafts program with a professional art teacher and a dedicated art room
